PUGET PAWS LLC & CLIENT SERVICE AGREEMENT

PET CARE AND PAYMENT

Pet care services rates for subsequent services are subject to change.

The Client authorizes Puget Paws LLC to perform pet care services as outlined in the Puget Paws LLC Time to Pet Portal. Client Information, Pet Information, and Veterinary Releases, which shall become part of this Service Agreement. Prior to any future pet care services, the Client agrees to notify Puget Paws LLC of any changes to the information in the Puget Paws LLC Time to Pet Portal or directly by email to pugetpaws@gmail.com.

Emergency care: In the event that the pet(s) being cared for require immediate medical attention, Puget Paws LLC will attempt to contact the Client prior to obtaining emergency care. However, Client agrees that Puget Paws LLC the authority to act in the pet’s best interest even if this means seeking medical attention prior to notifying the Client. The Client agrees to reimburse Puget Paws LLC for any additional fees and/or expenses that have been incurred while tending to emergency or veterinary care. The client must provide Puget Paw LLC with their primary vet information and provide their 24 hour emergency vet hospital information. Client must have a completed registration with their primary vet and their 24 hour emergency vet provider for each pet.

Inclement weather/Natural disaster: In the event of inclement weather, natural disaster, or act of war Puget Paws LLC is entrusted to use its best judgment in caring for the Client’s pet(s) and home. The Client recognizes that in the event of inclement weather/natural disaster Puget Paws LLC reserves the right to alter its services that are outlined in this agreement.

Personal Emergency: In the event of a personal emergency or illness of the pet walker, the Client authorizes Puget Paws LLC to arrange for another qualified person to fulfill the agreed upon responsibilities as set forth in this Service Agreement.

Access Policy: The Client agrees to provide Puget Paws LLC with on-site access with a coded lock or key lock box. Special considerations will be made on a case by case basis, especially for clients who do not have this option. In such a case keys are to be given: The Client must for provide two (2) entry keys which will be returned upon the completion of the contracted services. The Client may agree to allow Puget Paws LLC to keep their key(s) on file in a secure location for future services. Additional fees apply per trip for key pickup/return services.

Locksmith: The Client gives Puget Paws LLC the authority to use the services of a locksmith in the event of a malfunction of the lock, keys, or automatic door opener. The Client also agrees to reimburse Puget Paws LLC within 7 days of the Client’s return for all costs incurred, and to hold Puget Paws LLC harmless for any consequences related to the activities of the locksmith. Puget Paws LLC will attempt to contact the Client prior to obtaining any locksmith services.

Payment for Mid-Day Dog Walking/Pet Visits (non-traveling client): The Client agrees to make payment in the full price on or before for the first day of scheduled services. Past due invoices will be automatically be charged to the payment on file the following Monday. Late fees apply. Client agrees to keep payment information up to date and stored in the Puget Paws Time To Pet Portal.

Pet Service Time and Duration: All services begin at the time of Puget Paws LLC’s arrival and end at the time of departure of the clients’ home. Due to the nature of caring for pets and traveling from client to client, Puget Paws LLC cannot guarantee an exact time of arrival. Clients will be given an estimated window, a scheduled time block, of arrival. Special arrangements will be made for pets that have specific medical needs. 

Extra Services: Any charges for any unplanned services will be due within 2 days of completion of those unplanned services. An invoice for any additional charges will be emailed.

LIABILITY 

Puget Paws LLC agrees to provide the services in a caring and responsible manner. The Client waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Puget Paws LLC except in the case of proven negligence. The Client agrees to notify Puget Paws LLC of any concerns related to any agreed-upon services within 24 hours of returning home.

Emergency Contact: The Client agrees to provide Puget Paws LLC with contact information where he/she can be reached while away. The Client will also provide a name and phone number of someone who is authorized to handle any major problems that may arise. If the Client or the designated contact person cannot be reached in a timely manner, the Client agrees to accept any decision Puget Paws LLC makes in regards to pet care or the Client’s property.

Visitors: If anyone will be entering the Client’s home while it is under Puget Paws LLC care, the Client agrees to notify Puget Paws in advance. Puget Paws LLC will not enter an occupied home if Puget Paws LLC has not been previously made aware of any visitors. Similarly, unless Puget Paws LLC receives instructions from the Client, Puget Paws LLC will not grant access to the home to any visitors. Puget Paws LLC will not be held responsible for any damages incurred to the Client’s home or to the pet(s) by any visitors. It is understood that anyone with access to the home will be notified of Puget Paws LLC presence and vice versa. The police will be called, without exception, on all intruders or suspicious acts.

Outdoor Access: Puget Paws LLC will not be held liable for the well-being or actions of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

Aggressive Pets: If a pet has a history of biting or other aggressive behavior, Puget Paws LLC reserves the right to refuse or cancel its service. The Client will be liable for the pet sitter’s medical expenses and/or damages that are the result of an animal bite or injury due to the pet’s aggressive behavior.

Vaccinations: The Client agrees to provide Puget Paws LLC with proof of current vaccinations for all pets. Should the dog walker or the pet sitter be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from the Client’s animal(s), the Client agrees to pay all the costs and damages incurred.

Future Services: The Client authorizes this signed Service Agreement to be valid for future services without additional signed Service Agreements or written authorization, other than changes in the pricing that may be negotiated with the Client.

Terms and Conditions

Owner is responsible and will ensure that their pet is up-to-date with their vaccinations, flea and tick treatments and deworming treatments. Owner accepts full liability for any loss or damage caused by their pet while being walked. Puget Paws LLC is not held accountable for vet fees or third party claims while your pet is in our care. Owner is to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic problems which might make your pet not suitable for walking or pet sitting; including behavioral or health problems, antisocial behavior; including aggression, incontinence or lack of house training and excessive loud barking or whining. Failure on the part of the owner to disclose any matter which might render owner’s pet unsuitable for walking or pet sitting will be deemed a material omission amounting to a fundamental breach of our agreement. We make every effort to contact the owner in the event of an emergency. We recommend owners provide us with a contact number of a trusted third party should we be unable to make contact. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding your pet’s health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the pet and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. Owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred.

Cancellation:

Mid-Day Dog Walking and Pet Visits (Non-traveling client services); You may cancel your booked slot for credit provided you give 24-hours’ notice. Cancellations made within 24-hours of the walk/visit commencing, the full rate will be charged.

Rates: Service rates are subject to change at any time. Charges are as advertised on our rates page. Please visit the services and rates section on our website to view current rates. 

Additional Fees: All fees are subject to change at any time. Additional pet, Holiday, weekend, premium hours, key pick up/return, additional consultations, and late payment fees are subject to change, please visit the Additional Fees section at the bottom of the services and rates section on our website to view current fees.

Privacy Policy: We understand the importance of protecting personal information. For that reason, we have taken the following steps:

• Paper information is either under supervision or secured in restricted area.

• Electronic hardware is either under supervision or secure in a restricted area at all times.

• Paper information is transmitted through sealed, addressed envelopes or boxes by reputable companies.

• Electronic information is transmitted either through a direct line or has identifiers removed or is encrypted.

The Client states that he/she has read this entire agreement, and he/she understands and agrees to its terms and

conditions.
